Skatetown is Sacramento area’s premier, state-of-the art ice skating and hockey facility. Our 65,000 sq. ft. facility features two NHL-sized rinks, 8 locker rooms, full-service café, skate rental department, retail ProShop, party rooms, free parking and more. Home to the Capital City Figure Skating Club, Capital Thunder Youth Hockey Program, Sacramento Firefighter’s Hockey Club, Hockey Belongs 2 Everyone non-profit, and the Wine Country Curling Club, Skatetown has become the destination skating facility in the Sacramento, California area.
In 1997, when we broke ground on our new ice skating arena(s), we knew we wanted to build the best, most efficient facilities possible. Maintaining optimum ice conditions and comfort levels in a warm climate was definitely a challenge. We persevered and not only reached our goals, but exceeded our environmental goals as well—culminating in being recognized by the Energy Users News in 1999 for our "energy efficient design and operations."
We're committed to providing a safe, clean, fun facility where families and friends can commune—and it shows. We carefully handpick our creative, caring and talented staff. We meticulously monitor the cleanliness and safety of our facilities and take pride in providing the best experience possible for our guests, skaters and hockey players. If you haven't experienced Skatetown...you haven't experienced ice skating the way it's meant to be experienced.
We look forward to exceeding your expectations... See you on the ice!
We brought Rockefeller Center (New York City) to Roseville, California in 2013—the holiday outdoor skating aspect anyway! The opening of our HolidayOutdoorRink was the perfect addition to Skatetown. Our visitors love it!
Skatetown hosted its 1,000,000th public skating guest! A VERY exciting milestone! Our dedication to bringing out the fun-loving, innocent child in everyone (of all ages!) shows. We're so proud of our caring staff.
Skatetown was the recipient of Energy Users News' 1999 BuildingAward (Commercial) in recognition of our innovative energy and environmentally-conscious construction process. That same year we opened our second NHL-Sized Rink.
Skatetown officially opened its doors to the public WoooHooo!
We broke ground on our ground-breaking premier ice skating facilities.
